Spelling:
Reminder: All Spelling exercises for Unit 3 must be handed in by Friday, September 28th.
Each week we introduce a new spelling unit. We read and discuss the words and focus on a particular skill throughout the week.
Two extra words are added to the list. These words can be taken from Science, Social Studies or other subjects. They become part of the students spelling dictations.
Monday:
The list is introduced and your son / daughter is given between 20 - 25 minutes. At the end of this period we collect all of the exercises and keep them in a bin in class.
Tuesday:
The exercises are distributed to all class members and once again students are given between 20 - 25 minutes to work on the exercises. At the end of this period, we collect all of the exercises and keep them in a bin in class.
Wednesday:
The exercises are distributed to all class members and once again are given between 20 - 25 minutes to work on the exercises.
Today, however the exercises are NOT collected since students are asked to take their Spelling home to study for the Friday test.
Thursday:
We usually do not allow time to work on Spelling on Thursday.
Friday:
Students must make every effort to bring their completed Spelling exercises back to school and place them in the In - Box by 3:30 Friday.
Failure to complete their exercises or submit completed exercises to the In-box will result in a Homework Notice being sent home on ' Remind '.
Spelling Corrections:
- Less than 3 wrong...........correct your mistakes.
- More than 3 wrong but less than 5 wrong..............write out your error 3 times each.
- More than 5 wrong.............write out your error 5 times each.
